Pair of vintage French Louis the 16th style gilt wood armchairs
On Offer here is this pair of good quality. Vintage French Louis XVI style armchairs. My feeling is with these chairs that they are not terribly old probably made sometime in the last 20 years. Because of that they are in good condition and much cheaper than it would be if they were 1950s or earlier. This pair of chairs are quite big they are more like a throne than a classic French armchair are usually quite small in proportion.
Typical Louis the XVI style chairs carved beech wood frames. With carved shells and acanthus leaves with scroll decoration on cabriole legs.
The Wood has been gilded and The upholstery is silk. Large and impressive they would bring a lot of style to any room. They are comfortable quite upright. The Upholstery is a green with white floral design the material is in good condition and odourless.The main structure of the chairs is sound in fact a solid is the day we left the workshop. The material is clean and odourless there are one or two little marks on one of the seat cushions and on the padded arms of the chairs the silk has worn thin and frayed a little bit (see pictures) On one of the back feet some of the carving has chipped off but this has been repainted and I didn't notice it until I talk to Chairs for three weeks so it's not that obvious. This has all been taken into consideration when pricing.
