Seat height 43cm seat depth 50cm. This lovely pair of chairs were made in France some time between 1890 and 1900. It is typical of Louis XVI style popular in France at this time. They have original paint and original material & they are in very good condition. The material is all original and suits the style of chair very well.
A lot of French Louis 16th style chairs on the market usually come from the 1940s and 1950s. This pair are much older 19th-century 1890 to 1900 fantastic quality carving exquisite detail. They are painted in eggshell blue with the card details highlighted in white. All of the paint is original and very desirable colours this is the sort of thing people are trying to reproduce when doing'shabby chic' this pair are the real deal.
They are a great looking pair of chairs and would bring a lot of style in the home. They are in very good condition. The structure of the chair is solid. There is a little bit of wear on the material And what look like a few cat scratches. The wear and tear on the chair is minimal and in keeping with what I would expect and like to see for this period of time it suits the atmosphere of the chair, please check all pictures carefully.
