French antique marquetry side table with burl inlaid top and ormolu mounted. A superbly elegant, serpentine French antique side or lamp table of handsome proportions and design.
A fine example of Louis XV style furniture associated with traditional French chateau and later 18-19th century design influences, featuring ormolu mounted heads and ornate scroll leafs to the apron, cabriole legs and terminals. The 66cm wide, walnut burl with outer kingwood and inlaid top is decorated with a pierced brass gallery.
The 73cm tall table measures 66cm wide and 47cm deep. A wonderfully stylish French antique table that can enhance a classic or contemporary space, possessing an opulent character with a versatile use. Please note, whilst in mostly very good and original condition, there are some minor veneer losses, please see images, mostly in small areas to the legs and some shrinkage to the apron and the corner joints, this is quite common if exposed to a warm and dry atmosphere, but generally remains in good and organically sound condition, structurally excellent. Please request more photos and any questions invited.
