It's well constructed framework is made from solid elm, and the nicely fashioned backrest features decorative carvings and partly turned spindles, while the shaped arms are also supported by partly turned spindles as well as partly turned columns which adjoin the sides of the seat frame and also the side stretchers. The front of the seat is highlighted with deeply grooved carvings, and the partly turned front legs are another pleasing feature.
