Antique French Louis XV style painted shabby chic Corbeille / Basket bed. A fine example of a French Louis XV style decorative double bed. Having been finished in a typical painted style and upholstery it has a beautiful and authentic French look. An excellent addition to any home, this style of bed will work well with a range of home interiors and styles. Excellent structural condition for its age and use, having been well maintained throughout its life. Fits a standard Uk double bed mattress. Due to the curved nature of the foot board the mattress maybe a bit snug at this end but will fit okay. Golden and cream upholstery adds a unique touch to its frame. For this reason we do recommend re upholstery of this frame. We can say however that the upholstery is in very good condition.

It does have some minor repairs that have been carried out such as the banding across the headboard and footboard. There are a couple of areas on the foot board where the upholstery has unpinned itself from the frame, a relatively easy fix.

Please see images we have photographed these areas. The condition of the fabric is very good with very little noticeable marks. The price reflects the upholstery condition. Overall this bed is in stunning condition for its age and use, There maybe some subtle marks or knocks in the wood or paintwork due to age, however this does not detract from the overall look of the piece and is in keeping with its distressed / shabby chic look.

Head board is 121cm h x 151cm w. Foot board is 77cm h x 151cm w. Due to this items history and age it will display a unique time worn patina.
