Antique french farmhouse dining table in fruitwood

TRADITIONAL FRENCH FARMHOUSE TABLE IN CHERRY. This beautiful table is made of solid cherry wood and has the classic french farmhouse design of tapering legs and a plank top. The boards of the top have a concealed tongue that has been pegged together and the legs are similarly pegged as part of the construction. The colour of the table is a warm orangey red as you would expect from Cherry and the finish is silky smooth.

The dimensions are perfect for a large size dining table being 198.5cm long x 89.5cm wide x 77cm high. There are no gaps between the boards and the table is in very good condition. Condition wise there are a few small dinks particularly around the edges and some very light scratches but this is to be expected for a used table and do not detract from its superb overall appearance.

It is very hard to determine the exact age of the table but it is traditional in construction and style. It's unlikely to be a true antique but consequently it is solid without historical repairs and the boards are fixed tightly together. Older tables tend to have had the ends of their legs tipped and have gaps in their tops.
