A Vintage French Louis XVI Style Carved Wood Sofa C1950/60

On offer here is this beautiful single 1960s French carved wood 3 seater sofa. Height to top of back 90cm.

Seat height 43cm seat depth 50cm. It is typical of Louis XVI style popular in France at this time. It has original material & is in very good condition. The material is all original and is velvet type upholstery fabric it is a gold colour but has a slight two-tone quality depending on the direction of the nap there is also a slightly pink hue. (Slightly visible in pictures close-up). All of the panels of upholstery are kept in place with brass headed pins. Framework of the chair is carved in lovely detail with classical floral design. I will add that I have sat in the sofa and it is comfortable, The cushions feel like they are down the filled And the chair underneath the cushion is sprung. It is a great looking sofa and would bring a lot of style in the home. It is in very good condition. The structure of the sofa is solid.

There is a little bit of wear in keeping with the age but nothing I can really photograph. There is a light coloured mark on the seat cushion. The wear and tear on the chair is minimal and in keeping with what I would expect and like to see for this period of time it suits the atmosphere of the chair, please check all pictures carefully.
